1. Always use a base coat! This gives your polish something to adhere to making it last a little longer. A base coat also helps to prevent the coloured polish from staining your nail plate especially colours such as red, yellow and black.

2. Apply thin coats of polish. When painting your nails always apply thin coats for example 3 thin layers of polish instead of 2 thick, gloopy layers, if you do this the thin layers are more likely to dry faster than the thick layers.

3. Always use a top coat! When applying this make sure to swipe over the tip of your nail to seal the polish in place. Using a top coat will help to make the polish last longer and prevent chipping of product.

4. Use non acetone nail polish remover. Non acetone polish remover isn't as drying on the nails.

5. Never shake your nail polish bottle. Roll it back and fourth in your hands holding the bottle upright. This ensures that there are no air bubbles in the bottle

6. Thin out thick/gloopy nail polish with thinner. Got an old nail polish? Or a polish that has just got thick all you need to do is buy a nail polish thinner and add a few drops into the bottle.

7. Store polishes in a cool, dry place. Keep all of your polish upright and in a cool, dry and dark place to help the formula last longer. Heat and sunlight can alter the thickness and colour.

8. Hold your hands under cold water. Yes doing this helps! Once you have finished applying your polish to your nails hold your hands under cold water to help them dry faster!

9. Repurpose an old lip brush or nail art brush. Whenever we paint our nails we always get the polish on the skin surrounding the nail so why not use and old lip brush or a nail art brush to remove the traces of polish, just by simply popping it into some nail polish remover and clean up the edges and voilà all done.

10. Allow drying time! Make sure you leave enough time to allow you nails to dry! You don't want to go to all that trouble of painting your nails all lovely and done nail art etc to then go and smudge them! Nightmare.

 Hello Everyone!

I thought i would update you with what has been going on in my life so far. So i have been taking driving lessons since January 2015 but unfortunately i failed my first drivng test but nevermind it gave me the experience and i know what to expect for when the second time comes around, but I bought my first ever car!! How exciting!

I bought a Fiat 500 Colour Therapy in Beige/Cappuccino and i love it! I have always love the Fiat 500s so i am so happy i was able to get this as my first car.

Here are a few photos of my car

And i named her Flo! As people sometimes call me Clo, i felt Flo was an ideal name for my little Fiat.

I have also bought some cute car accessories which i love!

I found the steering wheel cover and the seatbelt covers all over on Etsy.

I also designed my own key cover!

Here we have my Mermaid style nails that i created on myself. I am in love with this theme!

Heres how i created this look:

To start of with i made sure all of my nails were prepped correctly by this i mean buffed lightly, cuticles pushed back and cut if nessecery and then using a lint free wipe i cleasned each nail with scrubfresh. This helps to clean and dehydrate the nail plate to improve adhesion.

As these are nail extensions i first started off by sizing my tips and fileing them to the correct shape i'd like. I then glued on my tips with nail glue and finished off filing any little edges that needed it.

I chose my 3 glitters that i liked, which was purple, blue and white and then i mixed each one of these with a bit of acrylic powder.

I started off by applying the purple glitter acrylic in zone 3 (above the cuticle area), then the blue glitter in zone 2, then to finish white glitter in zone 1 (the tip). I waited for this to dry and i sealed the whole nail with a thinish layer of clear acrylic. Once all of my nails were dry i filed and buffed them all until the surface was smooth. I then gave my hands a wash to remove any dust.

On the ring finger and thumb i created scales using a white nail polish and striping brush. Once this has dried i then applied my NSI Glaze n' Go top coat to all nails.

To decorate my nails i added gold and silver caviar beads, blue rhinestones, gold seashells and a mermaid ( all these can be found on ebay.) I placed these on the nails and cured them under my UV Lamp for 2 minutes.

Once they had cured i applied a second layer of the Glaze n' Go  making sure i covered all the gems/beads to make sure they are secured well. I then cured them under the UV Lamp again for another 2 minutes.

And that's how i created my Mermaid style nails!

I love Pinterest at the moment! It's great for getting inspiration on many things such as food, fashion, beauty and hairstyles which is what today's post is about!

Here are some photos of ponytail inspiration that i found over on pinterest.

To me a ponytail is the most quickest and easiest way to style your hair espeically if you are busy or don't have much time in the morning to style your hair so here is how you can style a regular ponytail in many ways.

- A sleek ponytail

- A messy ponytail

- A side ponytail

- Add a braid into your ponytail

- Place your hair into a ponytail and hide your bobble by taking a thin section of hair, wrapping it around the bobble and securing in place with a bobby pin.

- Add a fancy hair clip. I have some bow hair clips and it just adds that extra little touch to your ponytail

- Add curls

- Straighten your ponytail

- Add a hairband

- Make your ponytail longer:  Create a ponytail at the top with most of your hair. Then with the remainding hair, create a ponytail just under the top one. This will make the ponytail look a lot longer and the ponytail underneath is hidden.

And i'm sure there are more plenty of other ways to style your ponytail!

Hello Everyone!

Well i'm so excited until i go away on my summer holiday, i have a countdown app and there is only 136 days, 18 hours, 21 minutes and 30 seconds left as i am writing this!

My mum and dad were planning to go away by themselves as i am now 20 years old but i didn't fancy staying at home all by myself for 2 weeks so as soon as i knew they were looking to go on a long haul flight i just knew i had to come!
We are going to the Dominican Republic and this will be our first time visiting here and we can't wait.

We are staying in Bahia Maimon, Puerto Plata and in a hotel called Club Hotel Riu Batchata.

I'm really looking forward to just enjoying some sunshine, the hot weather, getting a tan, relaxing, spending time on the beach and eating free food and drink as it is all inclusive!

Have any of you visited the Dominican Republic?

Hello my lovelies!

As you have probably already heard there is going to be a new version of Cinderella that is going to be released in cinemas soon, so the glass slipper will be lost again and the prince will be in search for his princess.

I am really looking forward to seeing this film and it has given me some inspiration for a Disney inspired outfit.

Check out my Cinderella inspired look below!

Now tell me, which girl doesn't love glitter?

We all love a bit or a lot (if you're like me) of glitter in our lives and this is the perfect product for just that!

Glitter Lips by Beauty Boulevard was founded by Rachel and Paula. They have an exclusive online shopping outlet and they are the first to bring you the fabulous Glitter Lips range of products. This is a brand new, innovative product that will revolutionise lip colour like no other. It has an unbelievable staying power as one application can last up to 8 hours, yes you read that right! you will be amazed by its colour, shine and durability throughout the day/night. The entire range is waterproof and smudge proof. It lasts through an entire 3 course meal without needing to re-apply. You can drink, eat and party without losing any of your sparkle. What's more annoying than having to re-apply your lipstick after having a drink/eating etc!

Glitter Lips are avaliable in 10 different shades: Ruby Slippers, Diamond In The Buff, Coral Reef, Molly Dolly, Cherry Pie, Sparkling Rose, Ultra Glam, Dark Disorder, Disco Kiss Go, Midas Kiss. These are such lovely shades! I wish i could have them all.

I was recently sent a Glitter Lips product in my shade of choice to review. I chose the Ruby Slippers shades. This is gorgeous and every girl loves a red lip! It reminds of of Dorothy's ruby slippers from the Wizard of Oz.

The Glitter Lips product contains

x1 - Gloss Bond
x1 -  Applicator
x1 - Pot of glitter of your shade of choice

How to apply

- Start by applying a thin coat of the gloss bond to clean, dry lips. It does help by doing it one lip at a time! Keep lips parted and allow the gloss bond to turn from white to clear.

- Slightly dampen the pad end of the applicator with water as his helps to pick up the glitter and reduce waste. Then dab the glitter over your lips ensuring a good, even coat. Check for any sticky patches and apply more glitter to those areas that should require it.

- Using the brush end of the applicator dust off the excess glitter.

Removal Techniques

To remove glitter lips, they recommend using an oil based make-up remover.

Then soak a cotton pad in the remover and press on to the lips and hold for 20-30 seconds, this allows the oil/remover to penetrate the glitter and gloss bond, then gently rub in a circular motion for easy removal.

Afterwards moisturise the lips well.

I was so excited when this arrived in the post!

Just look how shiny and glittery it is! Ahh i love it!

The colour is amazing and you can see how bold and bright the red is and it is super sparkly. I found the application of this product easy although i feel i could do with a bit more practice to get more precise around the lip line. I'm not going to lie the application can be a little messy so i used some kitchen roll to help me with trying not to get glitter everywhere. It also does feel a little bit strange at first having the glitter on your lips as you can feel it.

I also feel that it would look nice and would help with coverage by using a red lipstick underneath before applying the gloss bond, but the lipstick or lip liner needs to be matt! As oil/moisture helps to remove it therefore it wouldn't last as long.

But don't worry if you are not a fan of the red lip don't let this put you off, as i mentioned earlier they are 9 other shades to choose from which may suit you better.

Now did it stay put?

The answer is yes! I can't believe how incredible the staying power is. It didn't budge until it came to removing the product. After eating and drinking it still lasted all day for me and it just looked as good as when i first applied it.

I was abit worried when it came to removing the product incase it wouldn't budge but i was able to remove the product quite easily. I followed the removal techniques and the remover that i found worked was the L'Oreal Skin Perfection 3 in 1 Purifying Micellar Solution. I did have to use about 4-5 cotton pads but it came off easily and i didn't have to do much scrubbing. I would say my lips felt a little dry aftwards but i just used my aloe vera lip balm and they felt good as new!

Glitter Lips is ideal for any occasion or event where you want to feel glamourous and add a bit of sparkle to the night. It would look great at Christmas time or New Year!

Glitter Lips retails for £12.50 and you can purchase them here from the Beauty Boulevard website.

Go ahead try it for yourself, you won’t be disappointed!

*** This product was sent to me for review purposes. This was my 100% honest opinion.
