The MAC Mariah Carey collection landed in the UK December last year and
features a whole array of different products for lips, eyes, cheeks and even body
and as soon as I saw the items online I knew I had to get my hands on some of the products. I bought a few items which one of them included the Sweet Sweet Fantasy Blush.

The packaging is very glam and comes in this gorgeous glittering silver box, once opened the blusher is held in this gold compact casing and features Mariah's signature on the lid. I do like the packaging of this but I feel it is very basic in comparison to the rest of the Mariah collection I would of prefered it to have been in the glitter packaging (not just the outerpacking) just like the rest of the items such as the lipsticks/eyeshadow palettes. The more sparkles the better!

The Sweet Sweet Fantasy limited edition blusher is a warm toned pinky, coral shade with a soft matte finish. It has a soft texture and doesn't have a powdery feel to it at all. The blush applies smoothly and is very buildable depending on how vibrant you want your blusher to be. It is very pigmented and I am finding that this is one of my daily blushers to use. For me it gives just the right amount of colour to my cheeks.

Did you manage to get your hands on any of the limited edition Mariah items?

I love MAC lipsticks and I am starting to widen my lipstick collection by adding more of MAC products to my collection.

I was looking for a lipstick that I could wear as an everyday lip colour so I thought I would try out the cremesheen lipstick in shade Creme Cup as it one of MACs popular products. MAC describes Creme Cup as a light blue pink but for me i'd personally say It's more of a nudey-pink.

When it comes to buying pink lipsticks i'm always worried if it will look too, shall we say "Barbie" but this shade is perfect for me to wear to work or as an everyday look as the colour is a soft pink but has a buildable covarage if you are wanting to wear it on a night out.

The lipstick has the cremesheen finish which has a glossy look to it. The only sligh problem I have found with cremesheen lipsticks is that it slightly shows my dry skin areas on my lips but it's no biggie. The formula is creamy and does not dry out my lips at all compared to some matte formulas.

The only main thing is that I find the colour doesn't last that long at all and I find myself having to re apply the lipstick a couple of times during the day.

The lipstick comes in the usual bullet style packaging and has the MAC scent which is just good enough to eat.

MAC lipsticks are priced at £16.50

Which are your favourite MAC shades?

I love a good bronzer and now it's coming up to summer it will give you the perfect sun kissed look although no matter what season it is this will give you an all year round glow.

Benefits new liquid formula bronzer "Dew The Hoola" comes in cardboard packing with a very tropical feel. Inside is a rose gold, bamboo stick looking bottle which is featured on other beauty products in the Hoola collection. It also has a very handy pump dispenser to get the product out.

No holiday this year? Don't worry this soft matte liquid bronzer will give you a natural bronzed glow that is convincing enough!

I must admit when I first did a swatch of this product I did find it looked fairly orange on my skintone so I thought I would be disappointed in this as I wouldn't get much use of it. But once applied and blended onto the skin it gives your face a lovely, subtle bronzed look. With this bronzer being matte, you don't have to worry about any shimmers once applied to your face. I have had shimmer bronzers in the past and there is nothing worse than looking overly bronzed.

The formula can be buildable but you could also sweep the powder Hoola over the top.

Benefit says "Create the illusion of a more slender face by applying this soft-matte liquid bronzer under your cheekbones and along your jaw & hairline."

Dew The Hoola retails for £24.50

Have you tried out Dew The Hoola?

The MAC Sweet Peach Face compact was part of the Nutcracker 2016 Christmas collection. As it was limited edition these products did sell out quite quickly but I managed to grab my hands on this online as luckily they still had a few avaliable.

The Sweet Peach compact features Extra Dimension Skinfinish in shade Tutu and Extra Dimension Blush in shade At Dusk. Both of these are stunning shades.

(sorry I couldn't edit the photo to make it brighter as it made the shades too light/completely different and I wanted to show the correct shades in natural light)

Tatu is what i'd personally call a light champagne shade. It is a soft, shimmering highlighter and I must say it has been one of my favourites since buying it. I'm hoping MAC release this as part of their permenant line as I would love to repurchase this.

At Dusk is what i'd call a soft pink. It is described as peach but for me neither the blush or the highlighter is a shade of peach. The blush gives a lovely flush of colour to my cheeks and paired with Tutu they both look beautiful together. Both the highlighter and blush are buildable when applying so you can add more or less to achieve your perfect look.

The packaging is lovely, the compact comes in a cardboard box which features the same design. I love the colours and feel the gold stitching around the compact is a lovely little touch. The design did resemble the Nutcracker that you may have saw around the MAC stores duing Christmas period. Both the blusher and highlighter are embossed with the same design as the compacts outer packaing. Once you open the compact up it features a well sized mirror which makes this whole set perfect for travelling or popping in your handbag.

Fingerscrossed the bring out Tatu and At Dusk as their own individual shades!

Did you buy anything from the MAC Nutcracker Collection last Christmas?

Since the Too Faced Sweet Peach was launched there has been a huge hype over this product and was in and out of stock for a while. All my local stores were out of stock and so was online so I personally waited a couple of months before I ended up buying this.

I only own one Too Faced makeup product which is one of their heart shaped blushers and I have never tried out their other eyeshadow palettes (such as the chocolate bar ones) but I have heard great things about them so when I saw this was being launched I just knew I had to try it out.

The shadows are housed in this metal, pencil tin like case. The casing has an ombre effect from pink to peach and has peachs embossed onto the tin. The palette comes in a cardboard box and also comes with a guide which features three different looks you can create using the Sweet Peach palette.

Once opened you are greeted with the beautiful array of colours and the pleasant smell of sweet peaches. Now when buying this I didn't actually think it would smell of peaches so when I first opened this up I was surprised, it smells lovely! The case also includes a decent sized mirror in the lid which is handy if you are taking this away with you.

Sweet Peach contains 18 eyeshadows such as peachy pinks, bronze and purple shades which allows you to create endless, modern looks.

The shades include:
  • White Peach
  • Nectar
  • Peaches 'N' Cream
  • Luscious
  • Cobbler
  • Georgia
  • Just Peachy
  • Candied Peach
  • Caramelized
  • Bless Her Heart
  • Bellini
  • Puree
  • Tempting
  • Peach Pit
  • Summer Yum
  • Charmed, I'm Sure
  • Delectable
  • Talk Derby To Me

The eyeshadows have a good combination of matte, shimmer and satin shades. They are well pigmented although I feel White Peach and Nectar are really pale. The colours blend in easily and I didn't have a problem with any fall out. The shadows can also be applied wet to give you more of an intense colour.

For me as much as I do love the shadows that are in this palette and the different shades it has and the looks they can create, personally I feel it should have more orangey/coral/peachy shades due to the name of the palette being "Sweet Peach".

This palette retails for £39.00

I have seen quite a few reviews of this balm and as I do suffer with dry lips for most of the year I am always on the search for a new lip balm. Most of the lips balms I have do moisturise my lips but none of them seen to get rid of the dryness/chapped skin apart from the Dr Lipp Nipple Balm and now this!

I've had this for over a month now and I can say it has been my holy grail product and my go to lip balm. Dr Paw Paw Balm comes in the origional formula, Peach Pink and Ultimate Red which are both tinted shades. I opted to go the Peach Pink balm to give me a subtle tint on my lips.

Dr Paw Paw balm is a multi purpose, fragrance free balm that can be used on the lips, cheeks, cuticles, dry skin areas etc depending on which balm you have.

The balm includes ingredients such as fermented Paw Paw (Carica Papaya) which is a nutrient rich fruit and is full of antioxidants, minerals and contains vitamin B + C. The Paw Paw helps aid skin to repair, has anti imflammatory properties and add moistures to the skin. It also contains Olive Oil and Aloe Vera.

The balm is in a squeezy tube and it does have a thick consistancy so at first I did think it was going to feel quite heavy on my lips but once applied it melts into the lips and has a soft, buttery texture. It absorbs into my lips and leaves them feeling hydrated once I have massaged this in. As it comes in quite a large tube I think that this will last me a while and I have found a little does go a long way.

The balm is perfect for all year round but for me it will be especially handy for the colder weather. It would be great if they did a balm with an SPF in for holidays!

As mentioned above the balm can be used as tint for the cheeks but personally I feel that this would be too sticky to wear on the cheeks so for me I am going to stick to using it on my lips, but I would love to hear from you if you have tried it out and your opinions.

Overall this product is great if you are looking for a balm that will really hydrate your lips and is one to definietly keep in your handbag for on the go!

Dr Paw Paw balm is priced at £6.95 per tube.

I was browsing through twitter back in April and saw quite a few fellow bloggers tweeting about a Tarte cosmetics set that they had found on QVC. Now yes I have heard of the QVC shopping tv channel but I never knew you could also order items from them online, so when I saw people tweeting about it I just knew I had to check it out for myself. I was amazed to find that they had some great deals on brands such as Tarte, Benefit, Bobbi Brown etc. Then I came across their exclusive, special deal which just happened to be the Tarte cosmetics set everyone was talking about via twitter. Now I have never tried Tarte make up before but being a blogger I have seen many reviews on their products so I thought this would be a great oppertunity to try this brand out.

QVC was offering the Tarte 7 Piece Maneater Collection for only just £43.96! Yes can you believe it?! I researched the products individually and the foundation alone costs £35 so how amazing is this deal. A good thing I found with QVC is that they allowed you to have "easy payments" with this set which meant you could pay £10.99 a month until you covered the full amount which is really handy if you are a shopaholic like me. A couple of days later this gorgeous gift set arrived on my doorstep!

The Maneater collection contains:

  • 1 x Amazonian Clay full coverage foundation
  • 1 x Buffer foundation brush (limited edition)
  • 1 x Maneater Eyeshadow Palette (limited edition)
  • 1 x eyeshadow brush a 2-in-1 brush with a flat, dense end and a fluffy, tapered brush end
  • 1 x Maneater Self-Sharpening Eyeliner (limited edition)
  • 1 x Maneater Voluptuous Mascara (limited edition)
  • 1 x Lip Sculptor lipstick and lipgloss in Kind (rose pink)
  • 1 x cosmetics bag

All items are full sized as well which I was shocked with as I did think some (the foundation for example) would be a travel sized version.

The Maneater mascara and eyeliner are both limited editions. The mascara is great if you are wanting volume in your lashes and with the small bristled wand I find that for my lashes it also helps to separate them out and it helps to catch even the smaller lashes/inner corners perfectly. It is a really black mascara and I found that it did not clump my lashes at all. The eyeliner is triple black pigmented and sharpens itself! I have yet to try this out as I don't normally wear liner on my lower lash line in my daily makeup look. I love the leopard print packaging that both of these come in too.

Now moving onto the Maneater Eyeshadow Palette. This contains the following shades:

  • 1 x Meow (ivory)
  • 1 x Passion (cream)
  • 1 x Foxy (rose gold)
  • 1 x Purr (soft mauve)
  • 1 x Saucy (light brown)
  • 1 x Hypnotic (shimmering berry)
  • 1 x Midnight (brown)

Again this is another limited edition item and the packing is the leopard print design the palette contains a full sized mirror and has a magnetic closure. The palette includes a mixture of 7 liner, lid and crease eyeshadows, and also has one highlighter in shade Lace which can be used on the cheeks, brow bone and inner eye corner. The shadows are also a mixture of matte, satin and shimmer finishes. I love the shades that are in this palette as for my eyes I do tend to go for the more nudey/brown look. This also makes the palette suitable for an everyday makeup look but also great for a smokey eye evening look. I found the shades really pigmented and easy to blend.

Now with me never trying a Tarte foundation before I was a little unsure on what shade I am going to be, I tried to do a little reasearch on the different shades that were avaliable and in the end I chose the shade Light Sand. When using this foundation I did find the shade slightly yellowish but it's not a big problem I'll just bear this in mind if I ever repurchase this item. It's so hard to choose the right shade for your skin tone online! haha. This is a matte/full coverage foundation and that is defintely true to their word. The foundation also lasted me all day and there was no need for any top ups. It also contains SPF 15 to help protect your skin.

The lipstick and gloss is such a lovely shade and is definietly one that I could wear everyday. I love the double end, it makes it easy to take with you in your handbag or for travelling.

Now onto the brushes!

The buffing brush is densely packed and again features the purple leopard print design. The brush hairs are soft and just helps you acheive a blended, even comlexion when applying your foundation. The second brush is the double ended eyeshadow brush. It has a flat dense end which is perfect for applying your base eyeshadows and a fluffy tappered end which helps to define the crease and brow bones. Again with the double end it is perfect for travelling.

All the items come in this purple Tarte cosmetics makeup bag making it travel friendly and easy for you to apply your make up whilst you are away or to touch up those areas during the day.

This was an impulse buy haha! I saw it, loved it and bought it and I would say it was definietly worth it.

Did you manage to get your hands on this collection for such an amazing price? I would love to know your thoughts on it!
