Whether it being strip lashes or individual lashes it is a must in every girls makeup draws!

Wearing false eyelashes can give a dramatic effect to your eyes depending on what kind of lashes you are wanting. It can give the eye a bigger apperance and there is no need to wear mascara! Although it can be applied if you want. Strip lashes are great for special occasions or a night out and must always be taken off before you go to bed.

You can get many different types of lashes ranging from natural-dramatic and thin/thick.

I am really loving strip lashes at the moment and I have only just really started wearing term more rather than just a one off, this is only because I could never apply them to my self! Even though I am a qualified beauty therapist and have covered strip lashes on my course haha! I could apply them to my clients but never on myself, so at one point I did give up and stopped trying but I have started to try again and I have been successful, yay, now that I can put them on I have been wanting to wear them all of the time!

Chelsea Beautique Mink Lashes £18.00 ***

Recently I was sent out a pair of the Chelsea Beautique Mink Lashes to review.

Although some lashes can look really cheap, these Chelsea lashes are not! They have a beautiful range of different types starting from nautural if you want an nice elegant look to thicker lashes to achieve that dramatic more stylish look. On their website chelseabeautique they have 20 different styles to choose from, so whatever mood you are in there will be a lash to suit you!

The Chelsea lashes are 100% authentic mink lashes, which once were only available to the celebrities for up to $5,000 now these lashes are available at Chelsea Beautique for £18.00. These lashes are softer and more flexible than regular synthetic false lashes as they are made from cruelty free Siberian Mink Hair.

"Super luxurious mink lashes that last" Yes! These lashes can be worn up to 20 times you you take proper care and look after them. They have also been handmade to the highest standards, they are hypo-allergenic and each pair are inspected and packaged.

My thoughts

Here are some photos of what the lashes looked like on.

I tried and tested these out on such a great day, gusts of wind and rain, what a day to try these out on. I was praying they didn't blow off in the wind, but these little beauties lasted me all day since 7:30am-7:00pm as i was travelling to college, in college and the travelling home. I was surprised that these had lasted me all day and they didn't even need touching up with glue thoughout the day.

I loved the feel of these lashes when applying them and once they were on. They didn't feel heavy on my lashes and weigh my eyes down like some other lashes have done in the past. They are very lightweight and after an hour or so, I forget I have them on.

I love how natural and real these lashes look and I have received quite a few compliements from my friends and family stating how lovely they looked on and made my eyes look better with lashes on. Although I do have naturally long lashes I have never thought about wearing lashes before as i thought what's the point but up until a few months ago I realised how much they can change your eye look and i am definately going to start wearing them more now!

I also love the packing that these lashes came in. I think that it is really good quality and I love how it is a clear hard plastic case, which you can see above. I feel that it is more easy for me to store them away after my use of them as I don't have to worry if they are going to get ruined or lost.

The only thing I would say about this product is, I wish it came with some lash adhesive! Luckily I have a small amount left from other lashes that I have used. So bare this in mind, if you buy a pair of these Chelsea lashes, glue doesn't come with it!

Overall these lashes are perfect for me as during the day I would like a natural eye look and then if I was going to go out on a night, I would like a more fuller/dramatic look. I would definately recommend this lashes to everyone!

What kind of lashes do you go for? Natural or dramatic?

Do you like the look of these lashes?

Sorry for the late posts! I have been busy at college and then starting at a beauty salon and then receiving a iPad last night surprisingly so i have been fiddleing around with that haha!

But the blogger interview is back! And today we have the wonderful Belle from Mascara and Maltesers

Let's begin the interview!

Q1. Tell me a little bit about yourself and your blog

Firstly, thank you for taking the time to interview me, I am very excited to be featured on Shimmer Lashes! I am a 22 year old who is behind the blog Mascara & Maltesers. I am currently working full-time as a fashion model in London. I also do some studies, distance learning (at home!) and will (hopefully!) graduate this year with a Business Studies degree. However, my main passion, and fingers crossed, my future, is in the world of hair, makeup, and beauty and that is how my blog started. I just wanted my own little space on the internet to express this…instead of constantly boring my mum with it.

Q2. How where you introduced into the world of blogging and who inspired you to create your own blog?

Well, it was a random thought one day after reading plenty of beauty blogs, I just thought 'I love makeup, and love writing so why not give it a go?!' I have never met anyone else who blogs, so every inspiration I have about blogging is purely from reading others. I didn't even know how to start a blog, I had to ask Google where to start!

Q3. If you could change one thing about your blog, what would it be and why?

My content, I would love to be able to blog about every single new item that comes out, unfortunately my budget doesn't allow me that one!

Q4. What is your favourite beauty product at the moment?

This has to be my Illamasqua Brow Cake, for so long I was trying to find a brow filler than matched, and suited my ash blonde hair. Well, I have now found it and completely love it. It has changed my entire makeup routine, not to mention my face!

Q5. What is your favourite makeup/skincare brand?

Oh gosh, tough one! I think I would go for Benefit though, their products are yet to disappoint me, and they are not too pricey like Chanel and YSL so I don't feel quite as guilty treating myself. Plus their packaging is so lovely and always looks good on my dressing table.

Q6. Would you ever consider creating a Youtube account for your blog?

Honestly, no. I just think it wouldn't suit my blog, plus I would never be brave enough! I have only just started watching some Vlogs, and I am still a bit undecided on the idea. I find it very Big Brother like to just watch peoples everyday lives. I just think who on earth would actually want to watch my life?! Bit of a strange concept!

Q7. Describe your blog in 3 words!

Honest, Personal & Fun...(hopefully!)

Q8. What tips or advice would you give to new bloggers?

I really don't think I qualify to give advice, but what I would say is make sure you start a blog as it is what you love, and do it just for yourself, anything else is an added bonus.

Q9. Where do you see yourself in 5 year’s time?

I can barely plan my life next week! But in an ideal world, I'll be about the modelling industry and moving up the career ladder. Plus, I wouldn't mind my own flat that is like the inside of a department store beauty hall!

Q10. What can readers expect from your blog in 2014?

Hopefully more exciting reviews, and a few more lifestyle-esque posts, and of course, many more mascara reviews!

And my second blog post of the day is blogger interview number 6 and today's interview with Heidi from foxbeautyblog !

Shall we begin?

Q1. Tell me a little bit about yourself and your blog

A little bit about myself? Well, I'm 21 years old and I'm currently being trained as 'Make-up Artist' for the little Body Shop store at Leeds Train Station. My job was what fuelled my passion for products and over the years, I've gained a true understanding of what different people need to shadow their flaws and emphasize their strong points. My creative eye has helped me to successfully do the make-up for photo shoots and weddings, and there's nothing better than receiving the photos back and seeing what I can create as an artist.

Q2. How where you introduced into the world of blogging and who inspired you to create your own blog?

I must say that no one in-particular inspired me to create my blog, as the blogosphere was completely alien to me when I got started at the end of last year. I simply wanted an online platform to showcase my own writing and passion - as that's all I've ever wanted to do in life!

Q3. If you could change one thing about your blog, what would it be and why?

If I could change one thing about my blog, I would incorporate lots more make-up posts, where I've created the looks myself. However, I do have two fashion shoots coming up in March- so watch this space beauty lovers!

Q4. What is your favourite beauty product at the moment?

My favourite product at the moment has got to be Quinoderm Antibacterial Face Wash. It's not an expensive must-have for all, but has changed my life since I received it, giving me a real confidence boost. I've had troubled skin for years and it's a huge relief to have finally found something that works alongside my skin to conquer nasty spots!

Q5.  What is your favourite makeup/skincare brand?

My favourite brand is Guerlain, as the luxurious textures and rich colours always create the most iridescent effects.

Q6. Would you ever consider creating a Youtube account for your blog?

Funny you ask, as I was hoping to incorporate a Vlog over the next couple of months to showcase the many techniques I've learnt over the years and to give my make-up reviews an honest transparency. All I need now is a high-quality set of brushes and the confidence to actually put my style and personality out there on YouTube!

Q7. Describe your blog in 3 words!

Playful, Real, Beautiful...

Q8. What tips or advice would you give to new bloggers?

Try and post as regularly as possible and then use social networking platforms to really sell yourself. This will help you to build good relationships with PR representatives, gain better coverage and create a solid online presence.

Q9. Where do you see yourself in 5 year’s time?

5 years time? Blimey. I'd love to be putting my journalism degree to good use at a prestige magazine brand as a Beauty Assistant - and wouldn't rule out being Editor of course! I'll hopefully have a chapter or 2 of my book in the works and will still be writing regularly for my blog.... with my followers hitting over a million obviously haha!

Q10. What can readers expect from your blog in 2014?

As said above, I'll hopefully have a video section incorporated into my blog by the end of 2014. Oh, and I aim to go to tonnes of blogger events! In fact, tomorrow I will be attending a product launch and have also won a make-over with Celebrity Make-up Artist Philip Luque... so I'm totally excited about writing that post up already! In simple terms, I just hope for it to be bigger and better when it comes to celebrating FoxBeauty's 1st birthday in November!

Thanks for taking part Heidi!

It's come to that time again girls, time to change my nails!
I have always loved doing my nails and creating different nail art looks and since becoming a qualified beauty therapist and now a training nail technician my love for nails and nail art has grown!
I love getting creative with all of my different colours and different nail art items such as bows, striping tape, diamantes etc!
After getting a fresh full set of acrylics re-done by my friend at college (the perks of being a beauty therapist/nail tech and training is getting free treatments and practicing on each other!) Here is the nail art design that i created.

To create this design i used:
- Collection 2000 Base Coat
- Models Own Turqouise Gloss polish
- Attitude White polish
- LA Colours Art Deco Black Striper
- Silver Diamantes
- Light Green Diamantes
- Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat

Look out for more Nails of The Day posts on my blog in the future.

Hey lovelies!

Today's post is another blogger interview!

It's with the beautiful Charlotte from vanityfairest-x

Let's start the interview!

Q1. Tell me a little bit about yourself and your blog
Hey lovelies I'm Charlotte, I'm 21 & I have a slight addiction to make up, skin care products, cats & all things girly. My blog mainly consists of beauty products & reviews, with the occasional fashion & lifestyle post thrown in! (Along with my everyday rambles..) I'd love it if you popped by as I love meeting new bloggers & discovering new blogs to read!

Q2. How where you introduced into the world of blogging and who inspired you to create your own blog?

I've always enjoyed reading blogs to find reviews on products I've been interested in & to keep up on the goings on in the beauty world. One evening I thought to myself why don't I just join in?! Writing & Beauty are 2 of my passions, so after a while of umming & ahhing on a blog name I logged onto Blogger & Vanity Fairest was made.

Q3. If you could change one thing about your blog, what would it be and why?

I'm pretty happy with my blog at the moment, I'm a bit of a HTML geek so I do some slight changes from time to time. I'm not planning on changing it drastically anytime soon though - mainly because it took me hours to design haha.

Q4. What is your favourite beauty product at the moment?

Right now I am LOVING Mac Pro Longwear Concealer it's the best thing I've ever got my paws on! If you've not tried this go get it - it's uh-may-zing!

Q5. What is your favourite makeup/skincare brand?
I absolutely love Elemis! It's the best skincare brand I've come across & it's done wonders for my skin. If you love Elemis as much as I do, make sure to stop by as I'll always be doing product reviews & recommendations!

Q6. Would you ever consider creating a Youtube account for your blog?
Absolutely. I'll get on YouTube eventually but I'm a bit too nervous at the moment!

Q7. Describe your blog in 3 words!
Your Beauty Bible :)

Q8. What tips or advice would you give to new bloggers?
I'm a fairly new blogger myself but the advice I've always gone by is to always be yourself. There will only ever be one of 'You' in the whole world so there is no reason to try & be anyone else. People will like you for who you are - that's what makes you (and your blog) totally unique!

Q9. Where do you see yourself in 5 year’s time?
I'll be 26 so I'd like to be in a happy, well-paid job with a nice rock on my finger! I live in a dream world - I know that these are huge things to ask for so who knows? One thing I'm definitely sure of is that I'll still be in the beauty industry & the blogging world!

Q10. What can readers expect from your blog in 2014?
Oooo there's so much I'm up to this year, I'd love for you all to come on my adventure with me!
Thank you for taking part Charlotte!

Hey!

Today's blogger interview is going to be with the lovely Chloe from thriftyskies

Want to know more about Chloe, then carry on reading!

Q1. Tell me a little bit about yourself and your blog
I'm Chloe and I'm a student and blogger from Birmingham. My blog consists mostly of spending bans (both ongoing and failed), drugstore makeup and other general discounts or bargains - being an unemployed student and having a love for makeup doesn't go together very well! There's also the odd lifestyle, fitness (ha, just joking!) and skincare post to be found every now and then too.

Q2. How where you introduced into the world of blogging and who inspired you to create your own blog?
The first time I realised that beauty blogging actually existed was a year or so ago when I was linked to Zoella's blog through her YouTube. I didn't actually decide to start a blog until about 6 months later - I'd always wanted to start YouTube although I didn't feel like the content I could produce would be very good, I felt nervous in front of the camera and the quality of my videos were terrible. I did know that I wanted to produce some form of content on the internet, and with a bit of encouragement from a friend who started at the same time as me, thriftyskies was born!

Q3. If you could change one thing about your blog, what would it be and why?
Hmm, I'd probably say my photos. I don't think they're the worst photos in the world but there's still definitely some room for improvement with the lighting and the general quality of them. At the moment I rely on the natural light and my parents old camera which runs out of battery all the time, so annoying!

Q4. What is your favourite beauty product at the moment?
Oooh this is really difficult! I'm steering clear of makeup for this one because I couldn't imagine my face with just one makeup product on, Imagine having filled in eyebrows with no foundation/mascara. Even the thought of my face has me laughing! I'd probably say the Effaclar Duo+. I'm working on a blog post about it at the moment and it really has helped to clear out blemishes on my face and remove my stubborn under the skin spots - even the ones that have been there for months on my chin. It definitely succeeds where most other blemish clearing products fail!

Q5. What is your favourite makeup/skincare brand?
The brand which I'm using most of at the moment is Maybelline. My favourite brand does alternate although I love the maybelline mascaras, foundation and I don't think the Baby Skin primer is as bad as it's considered to be. Had you asked me this a few months ago I would have said Bourjois, but after a bad run in with one of their mascaras (a complete waste of £9) it lost it's title as 'favourite brand', which was disappointing, as I do love a fair few of their cosmetics.

Q6. Would you ever consider creating a Youtube account for your blog?
Definitely! I think I touched on this earlier but at the moment I think I'd feel slightly on the uncomfortable side doing it. That said, I think my confidence has grown a lot since then and if/when I become happier with my content and filming equipment I'd definitely give it a shot. It doesn't help that I despise the sound of my own voice, but it's something I'll get over when I need to!

Q7. Describe your blog in 3 words!
makeup, beauty, FUN :D

Q8. What tips or advice would you give to new bloggers
If you want to start a blog but haven't, start now! I've seen a few people say 'oh I'll start in the new year' but it's so easy to put things off that sometimes, they won't even happen. Also don't be disappointed if you don't get the results/traffic you'd like to start with. It takes a while to build up an audience which is also why I think starting earlier is important - if you start a fortnight before the new year you could have an extra 10 followers by the time you originally said you'd start blogging! And of course, the one that is pretty much always said but also so true - just enjoy it!

Q9. Where do you see yourself in 5 year’s time?
Literally, I have no idea. Hopefully I'll have been to University, graduated and be in some form of employment yet. I'm not sure whether I want a job following my degree (Psychology) or something to do with Social Media/PR - I absolutely love the sound of both and I'm kind of happy that I don't have to make the decision yet. I also really hope that I'm still blogging - I can't even imagine what my blog will be like in five years time! Will beauty blogging even be a thing then?? I feel like everybody will have made the transition to YouTube, but I hope not!

Q10. What can readers expect from your blog in 2014?
Hopefully a lot more beauty posts - I'm trying a spending ban out right now so I'm not sure where the products are going to come from but we shall see! Probably pictures of used makeup (blogging sin #1 but at least you can tell I'm being honest, right?), lots of posts about making the most of your money and also about me trying to live a healthier lifestyle. I've also got a giveaway planned for when I reach 1000 followers which I'm so excited about - I've never hosted a giveaway before!

Hey everyone! It's time for another blogger interview. Today's interview is with the lovely Abby from whatabbyloves

Want to get to know her more? Let's see what she answered to my questions!

Q1. Tell me a little bit about yourself and your blog

My name is Abby and I'm a 19 year old studying law at university in Edinburgh. My blog is mainly beauty and fashion posts but I do love to throw a lifestyle post in now and again because it seems to be well received and I love doing them. I really like letting my readers get to know a bit about me as a person so that they can connect with me a lot more.

Q2. How where you introduced into the world of blogging and who inspired you to create your own blog?

I was introduced to blogging through watching Youtube videos. I think I came across one of Sarah Walkers videos from SWalkerMakeup years ago now and I really enjoyed watching her and from there I found Zoella and Tanya Burr. Then when I heard them talking about their blogs I eventually signed up just to read them. I initially had a stab at blogging a few years ago by doing two posts but nobody could read them because it wasn't connected to anything and I didn't have a clue what I was doing. Then two of my friends Nicky and Emma (and Emma's mum) randomly said I'd be really good at making Youtube videos and it was something I really wanted to try but just didn't have the confidence. So then I mentioned I was thinking about starting a blog properly and they've encouraged me and supported me ever since!

Q3. If you could change one thing about your blog, what would it be and why?

If i could change one thing it would probably be the design of it, I'm really rubbish with computers and it literally took hours of work to even get it to look readable. So I think if I could change one thing it would be making it extra snazzy with my computer skills (that I don't have).

Q4. What is your favourite beauty product at the moment?

My favourite beauty product is a toughie because I love so many. I think currently it would have to be my YSL touche eclat because it is a little life saver, it's great for reviving my makeup after a long day, brightening up under my eyes and of course it's a fabby highlighter too! I'm really loving bright peachy and pinky lipsticks aswell right now. I'm definitely in that Spring mood!

Q5.  What is your favourite makeup/skincare brand?

My favourite makeup brand would probably be YSL because it's very glamorous, I love the packaging and I reckon I could manage with just YSL. I'd really miss MAC but I don't think I could cope without my touche eclat so YSL!

Q6. Would you ever consider creating a Youtube account for your blog?

As I mentioned before it is something I'm interested in, definitely. I don't think I would ever do it though until I knew that people actually wanted me too and were going to watch it. So I'm a long way from that yet but I wouldn't rule it out in the future! I'm also really messy and it takes me ages to set up my background for my blog pictures so I have no idea how I'd cope with tidying it for a video!

Q7. Describe your blog in 3 words!

Beauty, fashion, lifestyle

Q8. What tips or advice would you give to new bloggers?

The tips I would give to new bloggers is just don't give up. If you're posting content that you're passionate about and you're making sure you don't have bad spelling mistakes then people will eventually find you and give you a follow. It just takes time! Definitely promote yourself aswell, I'd say the best thing I did for my blog is make a twitter account because it lets other bloggers find you and you can find other bloggers. I'd definitely say try your best to take good quality pictures where you can clearly see the item you're reviewing. Pretty pictures will attract viewers!

Q9. Where do you see yourself in 5 year’s time?

In 5 years time I'm hoping that I'll either be doing my final years of training to be a lawyer or I'll be doing something to do with make-up. I really would like to be a make-up artist alongside law and if I get good enough at it hopefully instead!

Q10. What can readers expect from your blog in 2014?

Readers can expect from my blog, regular posts, hopefully some look books and make-up looks (probably not tutorials as I'm by no means a make-up artist). I'd quite like to do a few more lifestyle posts aswell because I love reading them and people seem to like reading the one's I've done so far!

Thank you for taking part Abby!
